Now this is my personal favorite Blur album...most people scoff at me because of it! P I don't know why, though, it's got "Stereotypes", "Country House", "Charmless Man", "The Universal", and "Entertain Me" on it! Also a related memory attached to the album...I once collapsed after a shower from this anemia-type problem I'd been having and pulled down the whole towel rack with me. As I lay there in utter confusion, with my mind all addled and weak and I was almost passing out, for whatever reason "Top Man" popped into my head and that's all I was thinking about until I realized what had happened to me and was able to get out of my daze XD

^ Hahaha wow! I would probably be a bit scared of that song if I were you. But when traumatic things happen to me a seemingly random song will sometimes float into my mind as well...
Anyhoo, I find this album really interesting. Sort of Britpop starting to go a bit demented... some really strange perhaps questionable moments ("Mr. Robinson's Quango" for instance, although I've grown to enjoy it xD) but a lot of it is really fantastic stuff ("He Thought of Cars", "Best Days", "Entertain Me", "Yuko & Hiro" and especially "The Universal" come to mind).
The expectations were incredibly high following the previous two albums - I think overall TGE would've been better received had none of that awful "battle for #1!" nonsense with Oasis happened, and also some of the choice of singles/videos (I like "Stereotypes" but everyone bitches about it and the video was such a lame non-attempt, I doubt it did them any favors).
