Sneaker Pimps were a British trip-hop band formed in Hartlepool, England in 1994. They are best known for their first album Becoming X (released in 1996) and particularly the singles "6 Underground", "Spin Spin Sugar", and "Tesko Suicide" from the same album. They took their name from an article the Beastie Boys published in their Grand Royal magazine about a man they hired to track down classic sneakers. Sources: Last.fm, Wikipedia. Requested by Jasmine

Best band in the world in my opinion. Not strictly Britpop, but several people labelled them thus (although they did tend to quite vehemently reject the term) but here's a great track:

Ooh I really like that song! How many albums did they do (and which one is your favourite)?

Officially they have four, one with a girl singer Kelli Dayton (now Kelli Ali) called Becoming X in 96, chart hits with Spin Spin Sugar, 6 Underground and Post-Modern Sleaze, then two albums with Chris Corner singing, Splinter and Bloodsport. After that there's an album of demos that circulates the fandom called SP4, some of it turned into songs by Chris Corner's current project now working on it's fourth studio album, IAMX. I can never pick a favourite! They're all my favourite for different reasons. Impossible question!

Didn't have their albums but remember those singles. They were good. I would not have classed them as 'Britpop' but being a British act of that time with indie leanings they could be "de facto Britpop" in the same way that such as the Chemical Brothers, Prodigy or Underworld were.
